Things to do in Bentonville, Arkansas

While Walmart is the first thing that comes to mind when most people think about Bentonville, Arkansas (only natural as it is their headquarters after all)…this city is full of fun and exciting things to do for everyone in the family!

Explore Art

Bentonville is home to several great art galleries.  The Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art houses a main gallery that is free to visit, as well as rotating exhibits, a sculpture garden and even an infinity room…all contained in their building that is a work of art in itself.  The Momentary, housed in a converted factory, is dedicated to modern art and also celebrates performing and culinary arts.  Plus, the 21c Hotel contains a small, but well curated, gallery in their building as well.

Enjoy Nature

Enjoy the fresh air!  An extensive network of hiking and biking trails connects nearly every corner of the city (and surrounding areas).  And the Compton Gardens and Arboretum preserve a beautiful green space within the city.  Orchards Park offers walking trails, a pond, and sculptures. Into more intense activity?  The Coler Mountain Bike Preserve offers challenges for all levels!

Appreciate Architecture

Though originally located in New Jersey, the Frank Lloyd Wright designed Bachman-Wilson house was relocated to Bentonville in 2015 and is open for tours.  The 1875 Peel Mansion and gardens welcomes visitors as well.

Learn About History

Learn about the original inhabitants of the area at the Museum of Native American History.  For more recent history, there’s no question that Walmart has had a major impact on the area.  You can visit the Walmart museum to discover how this megastore came to be.

Play

No matter the season, there’s always something fun to do for all ages.  The Amazeum offers a wide variety of activities for kids (and adults) to enjoy.  During the summer, enjoy a fun splash pad at Lawrence Plaza…which turns into an ice skating rink in the winter!

Eat and Drink Local

Bentonville is full of local and unique places to eat and drink.  Including the Bentonville Brewing Company (complete with dog park and dog friendly patio!), Kyya Chocolate, Onyx Coffee Lab, and Savoy Tea Company.
