Plant Based Options at Disney World

Whether you’re vegan, vegetarian, or just increasing the plant based portion of your diet, Disney World has you covered.  Over the past several years, Disney has made a concerted effort to develop their plant based options and this program continues to evolve and expand.  And it isn’t all hummus and carrot sticks.  The plant based food at Disney World is some of the most creative and exiting offerings on the menu.

Definition of Plant Based

Disney defines their plant based foods as made without animal meat, dairy, eggs, or honey.

How to Identify Plant Based Options

Many of Disney World’s plant based options are marked on menus with a green leaf symbol.  They also offer a guide on their website that lists plant based options by location.  But if all else fails, feel free to ask!  Cast members are happy to help you find plant based options on the menu.

What to Expect

Way more than salads and side dishes!  Disney has been pushing the boundries of plant based dishes and offers a wide selection of unique and interesting items with inspiration from around the world (and galaxy!).

Meat Substitutes

In addition to making their own meat subsitutes, Disney partners with companies such as Gardein, Impossible Foods, and Beyond Meat to create their dishes.  For those people who aren’t fans of meat substitues, don’t worry!  There are lots of dishes that simply vegetable forward and don’t rely on the use of a substitute.
