Located in the plains of central Kansas, Lindsborg is a small town big on their Swedish heritage.
Festivals
Lindsborg is probably best known for its Midsummer festival celebrating the town’s Swedish heritage, but there are other great festivals during the year as well. A list of dates can be found online here. If you’re in town during one of the celebrations, be sure to check out all the festivities.
Dala Horses
Brightly painted Dala horse sculptures are scattered all around Lindsborg. See if you can find them all. More information can be found in this blog post.
Valkommen Trail
This multi-use trail through the heart of Lindsborg traces an old railroad line. Great for walkers, joggers, bicyclers, and pet parents alike! They’ve even added informational signs to educate you on the town’s history while you walk.
Old Mill Museum
Though the mill only runs for special events, you can still check out this amazing piece of history at the Old Mill Museum.
Heritage Square
Step back in time at the Heritage Center which is home to several historic buildings, including the Swedish pavilion from the 1904 World’s Fair.
Shopping
Downtown Lindsborg is full of boutique shops and galleries to satisfy every type of shopper. Including a store that specializes in Swedish crafts, Hemslojd…and a grocery store that brings in specialty Swedish treats, Scott’s Hometown Foods.
Restaurants
Lindsborg offers a selection of great restaurants to choose from. Including coffee houses such as The White Peacock and Blacksmith Roasters…a restaurant featuring all your Swedish favorites, The Swedish Crown…and an ale house, Ol Stuga.
Wine Tasting
Smoky Hill Winery has an outpost right in downtown Lindsborg where you can try all their Kansas produced varieties. Or take a short drive out to the winery itself (by appointment only).
Bethany College
Lindsborg is home to Bethany College which hosts sporting events, performances, art exhibitions, and other events throughout the year.
Community Theater

Coronado Heights
Local legend says that this is the point where Coronado gave up his search for the golden city. Whether the story’s true or not, the Coronado Heights outlook offers spectacular views of the surrounding area. A castle like structure and picnic facilities were added as a WPA project…and while they’re showing some wear, they give the place added character.
Kansas Motorcycle Museum
If you’re up to a short drive, the Kansas Motorcycle Museum is an interesting stop. Home to all types of antique motorbikes, the museum also celebrates a local champion racer.
Mushroom Rock State Park
Also a short drive out of town, you can visit Mushroom Rock State Park. Even though it’s the smallest state park in Kansas, it is home to several unique rock formations that look just like mushrooms.
