An enjoyable trip to London doesn’t have to break the bank.  Check out these 15 awesome attractions that won’t cost you anything.

1.  Household Cavalry—Two mounted guards stand watch at all times during the day on impeccably groomed Cavalry Blacks.  Stop by for a great photo op! Also, the crowds at the changing of the household cavalry and afternoon inspection are much smaller than those at the main changing of the guard.

2.  National Gallery—The National Gallery houses over 2,000 works of art including pieces by Van Gogh (including his Sunflowers), Rembrandt, da Vinci, and Renoir.

3.  Treasures Collection at the British Library—While a library probably doesn’t top your list of places to visit on vacation, some of the world’s most influential texts are on display here.  From a copy of the Magna Carta to handwritten Beatles lyrics, there’s something for everyone.

4.  British Museum—This huge museum is filled with countless treasures from around the world. Check out the Rosetta stone…mummies…and more! (I loved the clock exhibit!) The place is huge and would take multiple visits to see everything. Consider one of their free room tours to get a feel for the collection.

5.  Wellcome Collection—This unique collection explores the interaction between medicine, nature, and art.  From chamber pots to a print out of the human genome, the Wellcome Collection is full of things to satisfy even the most curious.  They also have a schedule of free events (lectures, tours, etc).
